Excited to have my first print for Gallery 1988 now up for sale on their site!
“They’re On to You” 18x24 3-color screenprint from the Alfred Hitchcock show that opened last night and runs through May 5th at their Venice location in LA.
Screen printing by the freakin’ awesome Seizure Palace in Portland.

Updated image for my piece in Gallery 1988’s Alfred Hitchcock show that opens this Friday! :)
The first batch I ordered came out BAD, so the gallery recommended an awesome screenprinter who could turn the reprints around QUICK, and I totally adore these guys. Can’t wait for them to get their talented hands on all of my upcoming G1988 prints … provided some freelance paychecks actually come in soon, oy!
I had a few days before they could start the job, so I ended up making some design changes — because hey, why not? — moodier color palette now and I also added some elements to the top and bottom of the print.

“They’re On to You”
My print for the Alfred Hitchcock tribute show at LA’s Gallery 1988 (Venice), which opens in two weeks on Friday the 13th. (Niiiiice.) 18x24, 3-color screenprint.
I was halfway through this when I discovered that one of the old NORTH BY NORTHWEST alternate poster versions had Hitchock’s head on Mount Rushmore (d’oh!) along with the other guys (I used to have this one), but I did it anyway … I’m sure someone else at some point has also put his head up there. (Considering the fact that Hitchcock made the entire film just so he could have a chase scene across the Rushmore faces, drawing him on there was pretty much a no-brainer.) Oddly enough, it was mainly the house that I wanted to draw anyway … as I said in my previous post, I badly want to live there.
I considered doing something half-graphic design/half-illustration, but I feel like everyone does that … especially in regards to movie prints, so I did something in my natural illustration style which leans a little towards the ’50s (which is when NXNW came out) anyway.
Incidentally, I started on three films — this, REAR WINDOW, and THE BIRDS — and decided to use this one for the show, so later in the summer, I’ll put the other two coordinating prints for sale right here.
(This post has been updated on 4/9/12 with a revised image.)

As the screenprinters get ready to start making these badboys this week, please enjoy a teaser sketch from my NORTH BY NORTHWEST print for the Alfred Hitchcock show at Gallery 1988, which opens on April 13th.
Incidentally, this is the greatest house that never actually existed. Mark my words: if I am ever wealthy, I am paying someone to build it for me. Well, either this one or the house from THE INCREDIBLES.
